A Mile In My Shoes?

Take Steps to Help People In YOUR Community!

On Saturday, March 3, we’re asking you to join us in taking some very important steps — steps that will help you better understand the paths walked by those who’s lives have been affected by rape, crisis, and suicide; steps that will assist these victims during their time of grieving and recovery and help them get their lives back on a positive track.

All money raised at this event will be divided equally between The Crisis Center and NWA Rape Crisis. Both of these agencies work around the clock to assist people going through difficult times, maybe thinking of suicide, or dealing with the aftermath of sexual assault. Your dollars stay here, helping real people with real problems every day.

“A Mile in My Shoes”

It’s a walk. No, it’s a party. It’s a Walking PARTY! And, it’s a fun way to help two great causes in one set of miles. While you’re walking the track at the Jones Center for Families, we’ll entertain you and your friends with great music, pamper you with huge goodie bags, and give away some really cool door prizes.

Strollers and children are welcome, too! And, we’ll have supervised children’s activities on the gym floor in case the kids would rather play while you walk. Here’s some pointers to remember:

  1. The event runs continually between 10:00am and 2:00pm, and we ask each walker to stay with us for an hour if possible.

  2. You can check in downstairs at the Jones Center anytime between 9:30am and 1:00pm.

  3. You can walk anytime between 10:00am and 2:00pm. The longer you walk, the better your chances of winning a door prize!

  4. Walk, jog, or run! It’s not a race, so you’re welcome to go as far and as fast (or slow) as you’d like. Get your exercise, visit with friends, enjoy the music and know that what you do that day will help people in our community for a full year ahead. Now, Let’s Get Going!
